AIUTOAMICO’s origin story begins with a unique perspective on navigating Italy. Anthonisamy Antru Sinthujan was born in Naples, giving him an early connection to the country. However, his upbringing and education took place in Sri Lanka, where he pursued his studies up to graduation in Biomedical Sciences. Despite being geographically distant for much of his childhood, Antru maintained a connection to Italy through occasional visits, becoming acutely aware of the linguistic and bureaucratic complexities faced by those unfamiliar with the Italian system. This understanding deepened when he returned to Italy for his Master’s studies and later moved to Siena for Dentistry.

This personal awareness resonated deeply with Savary Ravendra Jeganesan, a dedicated community leader and Consigliere Comunale Aggiunto in Naples. Mr. Jeganesan, an immigrant himself who has made significant contributions to the city, possessed a profound understanding of the systemic barriers hindering immigrant integration.

In 2023, a shared vision united them: to harness the transformative power of technology to create a truly inclusive and accessible Italy. Mr. Jeganesan championed digitalization as a solution, and Mr. Anthonisamy, leveraging his combined expertise in biomedical science and user-centered technology, recognized the revolutionary potential of Artificial Intelligence. Initially working independently, and then in close collaboration, they embarked on the journey of developing AIUTOAMICO – a project fueled by Antru’s unique bicultural perspective, Mr. Jeganesan’s community insights, and a shared commitment to making a real difference. From a basic prototype conceived with limited resources to the sophisticated platform available today, AIUTOAMICO stands as a testament to the power of diverse perspectives, collaborative spirit, and user-focused innovation.
